Neil Elliott Dorval – One of the Nation’s Greatest Pianists of This Era
Neil Elliott Dorval is one of the finest pianists in our time. There’s simply no argument to the present reality. He could be widely accepted and embraced by a jury of his accomplished musician peers.
Neil graduated in 1981 from Temple University’s Music School, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is 1 of the very best Universities for Music Studies, in the U.S.
As of 1976, Neil Dorval became a life threatening highly coordinated musician performing the intricate,
involved and demanding works of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750).
Sometime in 1979, Neil began to pursue his performing talents being an extremely proficient, high end, excessively talented Piano Man, aspiring to get aligned while using greats, for example
pianists/ singer-songwriters, Jackson Browne, Bruce Hornsby, Dr. John, Elton John, Billy Joel, Billy Payne Chuck Levell, Harry Connick, Diana Krall, Theoloneous Monk …
In 1979. Neil performed for Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden, at a Grassroots political event at Temple U. During the next decade, Neil appeared anywhere and everywhere in and around Philadelphia, racking up airplay, press interviews, public appearances, and lots of performances at several music venues.
Throughout this time around period via 1989 Neil also established the group “Olde City”, working musicians featuring Nashville born and based “Country” talent “Scott Whitehead’ (a James Taylor clone & CMA nominee “Hometown News” – ).
They recorded one Vinyl record, comprising 1/2 dozen trax. We were holding performing constantly, to adult contemporary audiences, in clubs, public venues, high end establishments, and leisure locations. Neil’s band, “Olde City” was very well received.

In 1989, Neil Dorval migrated to Southern California, to pursue a singer-songwriter career,
and also to complete the full on 24 track distribution ready master recording project, sponsored by private investors money , and displaying top L.A. studio musicians, and Grammy Award Winners. An 8 year+ project, having a $100,000 price.

In 1993, Neil spent a few hours with Jackson Browne, in the studio in Santa Monica,
throughout the setting vocals for Jackson’s “My “Problem is You”. Neil was taken to the session by Sweet Pea Atkinson (lead singer of “Was Not Was”), & famed background singer with Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Elton John, and Willie Nelson).
Sweet Pea was recording vocals on a lot of Neil’s debut singer-songwriter CD, prior to Neil concentrating on a solo piano career.
